Electric Folding Mirrors that auto fold

Hi Guys

Had my Ibiza FR for almost two years now. On the whole loved it and convinced the missus she needed a new one, so she has the new shape Ibiza, 5 door, CC, tinted windows, cruise control and electric folding wing mirrors.

Now I may digress, however it occurred to me the subtle differences between the two on the mirrors front. Apart from the way they fold in, the new Ibiza will allow you to fold the mirrors in when the ignition is not set, which is handy as even after 2 years I still only remember to fold them in once the keys have been pulled out.

What got me thinking was though, is it possible that there is some tool out there which will make these mirrors auto fold in and out depending on say remote locking, or when the ignition is turned on or off? I know its lazy on my part but we all like our little luxuries!

Any help offered on this is greatly appreciated!

Cheers

Phill

If its the same as the new Leon, then you hold the lock button (when you leave the car to lock it)
Keep the button pressed until the mirrors start to move as soon as they begin you can let go of the button. As soon as you turn the ignition on next time they will auto unfold. The switch inside need not be touched and kept in left/right or the centre(heating on costant) setting. You only need to use the interior fold when you are not going to lock it, like I do when its in my garage...........

Hi John

Thanks for the advice.

I tried this both on my mk4 ibiza and our new mk5. Neither worked.

Is there any other way of doing this or is it just not possible?

Thanks

Phill
