Hi

I am due to collect a used Seat Leon FR sport 71 plate from a VW garage on Tuesday.

I was not aware at the time but after a little research I am aware now that all service history is electronic!!

I have contacted the VW dealership who I am purchasing the car from but have not had a reply at the moment. Will the VW garage have access to the Ewin system to provide me with previous service history details? If not my nearest Seat dealership is a cars2 dealership and would they be able to provide me with these details??

Also am I correct that the infotainment system should have details of when your next service is approximately due?

Thanks in advance

Be aware that if the car has ever been serviced / repaired by an independent dealer in the past, if that dealer didn’t have access to Seat’s online system to update the car’s service history, then its possible there might not be a digital service record or what there is might be incomplete. However, assuming the car’s been serviced by a Seat - or non-Seat - dealership that has access to the system - and the digital service history has always been updated, then you should be able to get a service history print out.

When I sold my VW last year, I asked for - and received - a print out of my car’s service history from the VW dealer I used. The information on the print out was very basic though and didn‘t provide much detail - e.g. a service was just listed as ‘service event’ - no information on the parts/ fluids used. Similarly, I think a non-service repair is just listed as a ‘repair event’.

The infotainment system should have details of when the next service is due, provided it was updated / reset at the last service.
