Emission Control System - Warning Light

During a leisurely drive home the Emission Control System warning light illuminated in the dash (amber coloured pic of engine block).

No noticeable defects/symptoms of a problem, do I ignore it/can it be re-set manually?

The car's an 08 Altea TDi PD 140 WITH a PD Power-Up module retro-fitted.

i have same issue on ibiza tdi sport 130. 2003, found it goes off and comes back on every now and again.
so any ideas that get chucked about will be greatly appreciated

Have you putting any fuel additive in?

I put millers oil in my 04 golf mk5 140 TDI and its fine,
but once i put redex in and it brought the yellow engine symbol up, i had no faults or running problems either

I rang VW and he said its probably the redex or a bit or water/moisture might of got in.

He said fill it right up with diesel, so couple couple days later i did and the fault went.

It might not be the case with your cars, but just a thought, the sensors are really sensitive

You could do with a Vag-Com scan
