Right guys today was the last straw when the bonnet locked its self and i broke the front bumper, no long have intrest in the car and need to find another soon, may spit it for bits wen i have more time but financally its a wreck and no chance of geting an engine for months and by then alot will be forgotten. Thanks for all your help guys, il stick round for a bit.

I think sometimes you just have to know when to give up.

I had a Golf Mk1 GTi years ago that every time I fixed one part something else would go wrong. Put an Audi 80 Sport engine in, and I broke the clutch, replaced the clutch and the gearbox gave up, replaced the gearbox and then the speedo cluster packed up and the rear brake cable hangers corroded away..... Sold it as a project car for sweet FA and cut my losses. moved on to a Mk2 GTi. Yes I missed it as it was a good product, but it was a money pit.

Its a gorjous car but im afraid to say this, was owned by a pakistani lad who frankly shouldent be allound to drive as its been thrashed here there and everywhere, look alright when you buy it but the faults soon set in, i dont no why nothing ever happens when you test drive it. I feel like towing it to birmingham and shunting it through his house on fire.

My old XE engine did 2 inlet and 4 exhaust.

Omg i just looked at your readers ride thread and noticed you bought it from birmingham, i veiwed one in bham an asian guy who also had a m3 rep. Im sure your car is the one i veiwed as it has a koni sticker on the tailgate. he sed it had a brand new turbo, but engine sounded bad lots of squeeking and under inspection i found the intercooler pipe just above the undertray was hanging off various oil patches around his drive, and other things wrong with it also. he also said it was remapped to 280bhp! i didnt need to drive it to know that was bullshit. And he wanted £5800! i walked. shaunyboy is this the car you brought?

Sounds like it, no oil leaks on it, intercoller is fine and its just standard, only problem is the clown who fitted the turbo put n75 on wrong way so it was just going into overboost. To be honest on the face he must of really tidied it up well i thought its a scabby 1 but some tlc will get it somewhere, 4 days kaboom. i paid 4500 for it.

Well he must of tidied it up a lot then! i could tell he knew something about the car that he wasnt telling me, he kept saying it was "mint". anyway sorry for wats happened to it mate, i so glad i didnt buy it but my car wasnt the best purchase either lol.

There a black market these cars, hide alot of truths i think, took the gamble and lost, now i move on. In 4 months i had 4 days use out of it.

Just sounds like you ended up with a lemon which is a real shame as it seems to of put you off VAG altogether.

Is that wat F**ked the engine? i bought mine with the n75 plumbed up wrong but not over boosting under boosting 7psi max for 3 months untill i figured it out.

Think so cos i cleared it and it boosted well then limped and think it was last straw for the engine tbh and was never right since.
