Fitted some new bits this weekend, anyone spot anything different?

**SCROLL DOWN FOR UPDATED PICS**

Not cleaned it at all by the way and was taken on my phone so it doesnt look that great at the moment.

Still got to...

Remove the battery
Chrome pipe from tip to where the battery is now for the filter
Polish and clean/prep everything
And i think i might get the smooth cover polished as i'm not too keen on the black.

Also gettin my list together for all proper -an fitting braided lines for the catch tank and fuel lines which is gonna cost a fortune.

is it me or do you have a swirl pot in there?

i have two engine covers for sale mate, keep a eye out in the acc for sale bit mate should be up soon

No swirl pot. Thats my catch tank in the corner. I got a spare cover so i can always swap them while it gets polished.

Tom, i know what you mean but its was looking tired as hell and the blue was going green/manky.

Wheres your washer bottle? Battery being relocated in the boot? How and where in the boot you going to mount it and are you going to chage for a gel battery?

Washer bottle relocated to under the scuttle which i made out of a bottle that i had lying about.

Header tank removed and what you can see in the bottom right is the rad hose filler cap.

Battery will be mounted in the spare wheel well in a alloy tray.

As you said, i think the rocker cover would look better polished.

Should look smart when it's all done!

Where do you get your parts polished?

Looks good, think I prefer the old style but as this is still a work in progress i'm sure it will only get better.

so you've removed the header tank and are just using a radiator hose filler cap?

are you creating all this extra space for any particular reason?

The guys on the Starlet forums get good results polishing their rocker covers with autosol metal polish and a electric drill. The best jobs are done with the rocker cover stripped off, but people have done it with it in place too. Don't know if that's possible with the 20vt

I've removed things to make it easier to install a nice TIP when i go BT.

So far i've removed from the engine bay...

N249
N112
SAI
EVAP
washer tank
A/C
header tank

I also re-taped a lot of the wiring in the bay to tidy it up.

Have you changed the rocker cover to use the AGU style bolt on coilpacks? they just look different in the top pic! (thought the wiring was different mind)

Its a smooth non turbo 1.8 cover drilled and tapped to accept the bolt downs.

You can use the bolt downs on any rocker cover.

The old look was better IMO phil but im sure you'l suprise us once its finished mate.

Nice work

Yeah i think so, but i never took a pic of it when it wasnt clean. lol.

It'll look better when its all clean with the rest of the bits done i reckon. Think i'll be gettin the cover polished tho, doesnt do it justice at all.

Got another throttle body to go on as well, not sure to do that in black or get it polished as well.

Amazing what a clean, polish, decent weather and decent photos does *****. Gettin there, the rocker cover is growin on me as well.

Still WIP tho, battery has been moved as well now, just need a 70mm chrome tube if anyone knows where to go them from?

Wanna get braided lines to a in line walbro then out to the fuel rail.

Shame my brake servo cap didnt fit, that yellow thing stands out a mile.
