engine code comparison.

Hi guys, this made me thinking, how come all engine code are differnt?
they all run at 180bhp and are 1.8 turbos.
can any one shed some light,

APP = K03 turbo, no variable valve timing
AUQ = K03S turbo and variable valve timing

Just the major differences, there are many more.

is this true, with app engine you could only remap it to a ceratin a mount of bhp compared to auq engine?

how can a app engine take up to? and how much can auq engine?

APP with remap alone will go to circa 200bhp. AUQ with remap alone is about 215-220bhp.

The APP engine runs out of steam quicker and isn't quite as flexible due to its lack of variable valve timing and less powerful turbo. Figures wise they even out with the bigger mods like big turbo conversions but the power curve on a tuned APP engine with stock head will always drop off sooner than a similarly tuned AUQ.
