engine codes

my label in the boot, under the carpet, which has all the engine codes, paint codes etc., has been taken off, presumably by the previos owner. where can i find this info out, or is there another plate somewhere?

It should also be in the front of your service book.

if ya lucky - look for a small bar code label on the top of the timing belt cover

if its survived it will state the engine code and serial number

may be under a cover


what car is it - might know the code anyway

Engine number will be on your V5 - mine states AGGxxxxxxx, and being a late 2.0 8v it's an AGG engine. So you should be able to work out the engine code from the engine number...
