engine cutting out & eps warning lamp

Hey guys I've been chasing my tale on this one trying to work out what exactly the problem is as cant afford to throw money at the car needlessly.

I'm currently having an issue where the car will randomly & intermittently just die when i let my foot of the throttle whilst driving , eg waiting at traffic lights or coasting. might not happen for a day or so , or it may happen 5 times in a 20 minute commute. once the car has stalled out the eps & engine warning lights come on & remain on until the car has been switched off once or twice.

I've run a vcds scan & reset all fault codes , but obviously the issue persists.
Has anyone experienced similar or know what the likely cause is ??

I would check brake lights/switch replace if necessary clear codes and start again see how it goes from there

Agree with above + I washed throttle body (dont disconnect wire, just undo 4 bolts) and problem solved

I'd advise buying the latest switch from a VAG main dealer, it is a lot bigger at the connector end, so don't worry when it looks a lot different from what you are removing,and when fitting it, remember to leave the brake pedal up against its top stop. This is the opposite to how you fit the earlier versions, also, if you don't get it to fit correctly first time, these latest switches are "reusable" so you will be able to try fitting it a second or third time.

Hey guys , quick update ,
i Found the break light switch issue to be a blown bulb , I replaced cleared the tdc bank & brake fault now gone having run 3 consecutive scans in 3 days.
Ive also now replaced the MAP sensor & cleared down the fault codes again , thought Ide cured it for 24 hours but the eps lamp is back on & off along with the engine warning light intermittently after a slow rpm engine stall.

Having run yet another scan its still throwing up the same 2 faults

17961 - Barometric / Manifold Pressure Signals
P1553 - 35-10 - Implausible Correlation - Intermittent
Readiness: 0000 0000

this Really sucks & need the car to be reliable for a long journey in a few weeks.

I was on Your way - started with MAP sensor, then brake sensor and problem was present - intermittent LIMP mode
Then I washed throttle body and problem solved (very cheap!!)
