Engine fans are on when I wouldnt expect it

Hello all,
For the second time in two weeks my engine fans are on when getting out of the car. First time was last week after a relatively gentle motorway run and again this morning (7 oC outside temp). I wouldn't usualy expect the fans to come on unless stuck in a traffic jam etc on a hot day? Can anyone offer any advice on this please?

DPF Regen? Think it blows the fans during/after a regen as the dpf gets hot whilst doing one

Ahhh right that might explain it then....

So is this definately the case then? DPF? I've had no light on the dashboard to indicate this?

There is no light to tell you a regen is in progress. You only know it is regening due to the elevated idle speed and rough running of the engine.
