hi

the engine indicator on my car lit up last week, i know that vagcom would be the way forward, to get the exact error code or whatever, but i had a theory.

its last service was almost exactly 15000 miles ago, i know its a long time, but moneys been tight, could this have anything to do with it? (to re-enforce the owner to get a service?)

i've looked into buying the vag com stuff, but i wondered if anyone had any ideas before i did?

cheers in advance

No the thing to make sure u get the service is the service indicator which flashs up by your mileage when u switch on the ignition.

I bought a Vag-com fault finder thing off ebay for £50 which gives you the fault codes and erase's them for you, does the job for the money

hi, i got one from GENDAN it was just under £44 including vat and postage comes with full list of codes and a pc based codelist cd rom. well worth the money.

If you use your initiative vag-com costs you the price of a 3rd party lead. Assuming you have a laptop.
