Engine Management Light on Tdi FR

came on the other day and the manual says its because of exhaust emissions being too high... has anyone experienced this happening and what was the cause of it? will it do any harm driving it until i can get it booked in to be checked over?

Just had my engine light on (no other lights) and turned out to be a "Differential Pressure Swtich" which is part of the DPF. Seat sorted it in an hour and half under warrenty. Could be hundreds of things however.

got this problem sorted, posted in another thread and forgot about my own lol it turned out to be a faulty sensor and was replaced under warranty.
