engine management

hello ppl, just wondered if anyone cud help, ive just got home from a night shift, and just as ive pulled up to my house, the engone management light began flickereing on n off, and the engine sounded like it was almost chocking.

if anyone has any ideas, wud be much appraiated.

coilpacks perhaps.
do you have access to vag-com?

no mate i dont, but i think it might just be missfiring, how would i know if my coils were on there way out anyway?

they misfire..

pull off the injectors off-on one at a time to see which cylinder is not effected, then thats the one.. then if you still want convincing, swap that coil pack position with another and see if the misfire moves with it.. QED thats the problem.

Advise: get all 4 and swap them all out so they are all new at the same time
