engine misfire, any 1 with vagcom in sheffield?

Hi,

I have got a constant engine misfire, seems like its firing on 3 only. Been advised to get a check with vag-com, was wondering if anyone could diagnose it for me, i live in sheffield.

has it had the plugs changed recently? if so pull the ht leads of one by one. it should run rougher untill you get to one when it runs the same. look down the lead and you will probably notice there is a rust build up or the metal inside has corroded sounds like you just need a lead set.

the mk2 has such a basic ECU, it won't be much use (if any)

do u mean putting it on the VAGCOM wont be much use?

EdButler has VAG com in sheffield, theres a meet planned in the northern meets section, post in there and come along. I'm sure Ed wouldnt mind bringing his laptop and cable.

Did you sort this out? For price of it, just replace all the leads if it hasn't been done already
