Engine Paint Suggestions

Im luckily getting some space in a garage to work on the ibiza ive decided to paint the block and gbx too ive got some questions

1. Has anyone painted a block gbx before if so any pictures

2. what products would you reccomend paintable not spray ive been told (Por15, Rustoleum, Hammerite, Granville and tetrosyl)

3. What prep products did you use ive been told (thinners, carb cleaner, wax and silicone/grease remover)

4. Any tips would be hugely welcomed

I cleaned my with carb cleaner and paint black hammerite had the rocker cover painted same as my wheels no issues with any of that. Just cleaned the head when i rebuilt it.

go with gunk from halfords to clean everything down... its magical to say the least that stuff...
while youre there pick up a tin of gloss black engine paint and a paint brush set and bobs your mothers brother

do it gloss aswell... matt looks better but the tinyest bit of grime shows and is impossible to keep clean
