Is the car in Q a 1.8t in the first place or a 1.4 ors im? You would be far better off goingto a specialist like VAG Tech than a main dealer as most of them really dont know there arse form there elbow!
 
There was someone trying to sell his IHI'd cupra a while ago and it wouldnt shift due to the mods but if its what your want you would be laughing if you could get one done as its far cheaper that doing the mods yourself. If i had seen a modded leon/beezer i would have gone for that.

Plus that way you can spend more dosh in getting her just how you want her!
 
Reverse the question, what BHP are you after?

If it's 225 then a £250 turbo upgrade, air filter, exhaust, Frount mount and remap will (about £1,500) will be good for about 240-250
 
dont really see the point tho even if you did put a 225 engine in an ibiza and had a remap you would only see around 260bhp ....... depending on turbo on standard ibiza you will see any thing from 240 -290 bhp going upto ihi 300+ the inners of a 1.8t are more than capable of handling his power without being uprated as they are in the 225 it would be cheaper to buy a lcr and have it ihi`d
 
not really...money you would spend on buying and fitting you could do some serious stuff to the original lump, only the turbo and intercooler the real limitations
 
im sure I've seen this argued about somehwere....and people said about compression ratios and stuff dont really understand it myself though!

Surely a 225 engine from a LCR wouldnt be that expensive?? especially if you sold the original 156 lump as well?
 
just cos its straight forward to fit doesnt mean its cheap...ok gonna save money if you can do it yourself

from what iv seen looking at anything like £800+ for the lump

gearbox is different cos LCR is 6spd, not sure if 02j box will go straight on or not??

for the money im sure u could get a BT fitted and mapped, would piss over a k04
