the ibiza engine mounts on a 225 lump(BAM) will hit the oil return pipe and the gearbox wnt fit...

thats what i said you would need to fit the 156 engine mounts on the 225 engine and you could run a 5 speed box but it would probably blow up after a while

Have i really missed the point or would it just not be more cost effective to tune the standard engine - not 100% but wouldn't the saving cover (most of) the cost of new internal bits&bobs...??

personally thought the bam225 and the ayp/aqx156/180 engines were as strong as each other ......

afaik they are. BUT i do remember lots of info about the mk3 ibiza 1.8T being abit more special inside for some reason

I wouldnt bother personally.........Keep your engine and tune it!! Wouldnt you have to swap ecu's etc....??
