Before anyone replys this is NOT another im going to put a 7.0 quad turbo in thread.

All i need to know is, is it straight forward to swap my 2.0 8v for the same.

Reason i ask is mine is on nearly 110k and quite like the idea of getting a less miles one, then rebuilding it and then to put it in.

It *should* be as simple as unplugging / disconnecting / unbolting everything, lifting the old engine out, and putting the new one in.

110k isn't huge mileage for these engines mind you.

As said 110k isn't that much mileage , although I can see where you are coming from in terms of prevention rather than having it let go on you , my 1.48 8v is approaching 150k now as I use it for work instead of the gti and only problems I have had engine wise is a slight bit of valve stem smoke and slightly high running temp due to this

mmmm...maybe i should just keep it in there for abit longer, me thinks i should getting it on the dyno to see if its actually producing what it should.

wait for problems... piece of pee to change, easily do-able in a day, with minimal effort & maximum preparation

110k is not that much. Mines almost the same and the engine is running perfect (touch wood) haha.

As said above, wait till it breaks then see what options are available.
