I recently decided to test the top speed of my 2.0 16v ibiza cupra, got to 140mph. Its been cammed, lowered, x-flow induction kit.

After looking under the bonnet later i noticed coolent was at zero and engine oil levels were just below "low". I then noticed that the tube(bout 3"diameter) just below the dipstick was split quite badly and another behind the engine on the drivers side. Ive been told that these are just water pipes and that it had no effect on the oil, but the tubes look quite oily.

I got no idea what ive done, so any help would be appriciated. The temp levels never reached above 3/4 so im hoping that no perminant damage has been done to the engine.

Im thinking that it may be due to the upgraded engine parts and that the tubes cannot handle the extra power but I've gt only a little knowladge about engines. If this is the case, are there any higher performance replacements for these parts to ensure that this dosent happen again?

cheers for any help or advice

the hoses split because they're old, not because of all the extra oomph

I'm scared that you took the car to it's vmax without it being warmed up though......

just buy new replacement hoses for the ones that are split
