There's no doubt about it i'm afraid. If you scan it for fault codes it may point towards the pedal and the sensor but it will be the ecu. Are the wires frayed? If so it could have been happening slowly and when they removed the sensor without disconnecting the battery, they have shorted the wires and fried the ecu. At the end of the day the car drove on and had to be pushed off the ramp so the are liable and I would be looking for a replacement car while it is off the road!

I can recode your replacement ecu and send the bill to the garage that screwed it up, or better still get them to fix it. ill pm my details.
 
yeah ive given them the ecu and they have sent it to there head office and im hope it will be sorted in next few days...fingers crossed
 
Highly doubt they will turn around that quick.
Good luck though. Just be sure to check all your wiring is fixed or the shorts were found and removed.
 
hi guys, the exhaust company sent my ecu off to there head office and they have diagnosed it and said the "ecu is knackered" lol...but they have got me a new one and ripped the info off the old to go on the new and will send it out tomorrow:)
