epc light on!

hey people.

i've got the epc light on, and every time i clear the code it comes back.
i've replaced the brake light switch, no difference.
made sure all the clutch and brake pedal switches are aligned properly.
made sure that the switches are in correctly.. basically as far as theywill go.

ran out of ideas.

16955 P0571 Cruise/Brake Switch (A) Circ Malfunction

is the error i'm getting.

anyone know what i'm missing??? orwhat i can check. cheers

i had EPC on and it was just a blown fuse

no one got anymore ideas ?? i've read something about the clutch switch may be faulty?? anyone confirm this?

id check and make sure all the brake lights are working and their isnt a fillimant shorting out. had that befoe. also check the conection to the throttle body as brake light switch and t/body directly linked. or you could just have a faulty switch?

i had this when first got my car look for the switch onto of the cluch peddle may ahve coem lose if it doesent press properly get a fault code have you noticed when changing gear revs increasing before decreasing at all?

cheers forbez. on my third brake light switch... fuses seem okay to me.
will check the bulbs guessing i can get a replacement one from halfords??

my brake lights are still working fine.

are the two switches above the brake pedal supposed to touch is at the same time when depressing the pedal???

there are two brake switchs on the brake pedal isnt there??? try replacing the other one

i cant remember but its got to do with ether brakes or cruise control, so i would replace the other one if i were u

I have this on and off. But the error I get is
Brake switch - Implausable signal, have replaced lower of two sensors but still re-appears, brake lights work fine; switches are both being made at same travel of brake pedal. Annoying to say the least.

just incase people were wondering, i replaced both brake lights...
and the error has gone! must of been the wrong bulb type good stuff!
