Hi i have a 2002 seat leon im getting on the 10th so not long :)
Its black cupra r ;) few mods nothing special.

The paint has quite a few swirls and light scratches i have it booked in at my local body work
garage to have a polish of 140 pounds which i think is not bad. they use the farecla products i think its g3 g10 or summing like that but they said that will get the paint looking shinny and swirl free is that correct is there anything else i need to get done as i want it looking for good when i get it and hopefully have some nice weather :)

p.s im new to all this dont rip me to much :)

Hello pal. The service you need is paint correction.
This removes imperfections from the top layer (laquer).
It is basically cutting the top layer off. They seem to be doing this for you.
But the service seems to be more of a quick "mop" job where they use a cheap rotary and just go over the car quickly with one grade of cutting compound.

This not a polish. As the don't use polish for this job. When you get a car detailed. Then they use polish and a wax and sealant to lock in the shine.

If they are just doing a mop, it shouldn't be more then about £60 ideally

140 is about right...in labour costs.

G3 products will cost you about 25 quid from Halfords and you can do it yourself manually.

Takes a bit elbow grease but I reckon you can do the whole car over two nights.

I just did my Toyota MR2 which had HORRIBLE scratches and swirls.
See before and after:

That's two stages of Farecla G3 by the way....stage 2 (scratch remover) and stage 3 (paint renovator).
Applied with the provided applicator if you buy a tube of G3 scratch remover, currently in the offers bin at Halfords.

Also...Halfords are doing a 3 for 2 now so get in, get yourself some g3 stages 2 and 3, and a claybar or wax.

Doesn't make sense to do g3 and then g6...but ok.
What does make sense is g3, g10, a good sealant and nice hard good wax (AutoGlym HD)

i dont have a machine buffer :S plus dont have a clue what im doing

I don't have a machine buffer either.... ;)

Go to www.g3pro.com, click on the green bottles for example, and click the video link on the right. It shows how to apply it.
It really could NOT be any easier.

I did it using long swipes with a decent amount of pressure (not too much) across the panel. And did it panel by panel.

So wash car, g3 stage2 on panel, wipe off, g3 stage 3, wipe off...repeat if not happy with results yet.
Bit of wax. Done

You could always try by hand Clay bar followed by AG SRP then a Wax to finish, you'll have to do a few coats of SRP but the results are worth it,

clay bar wont touch swirls though mate, have the bodyshop buff it but £140.00 is cheap in my opinion as i charge from £250.00
