Hello chaps, I'm new on here so apologies if this has already been covered (if it has it would be much appreciated being pointed in the right direction).
I have a Leon Reference Sport 2.0 Tdi, 07 reg. Had it for a little over a year and already had the Turbo replaced. Just recently however the ESP / ABS light has been appearing on the dash after about 5-10 minutes of driving. Sometimes it comes on, other times it doesn't. If I turn the engine off then back on again, the ABS light stays lit for a few seconds and then turns off, but the ESP light remains off.
I know one of the brake pads is wearing thin from my last MOT, so I wondered if it was related to this?
I've done a little bit of research in to this and it seems it may be a faulty or loose wire, or worse case a brake pressure sensor. I've lost faith in my local Seat garage
- so I've turned to you guys to help me out so I can get 'educated' before making any decisions.
Has anyone else experienced this?
I imagine it's ok to drive as the lights don't stay on constant nor does it go into limp mode?
I also heard if its a brake pressure sensor problem it's a common fault and VW were replacing the parts on out of warranty vehicles FOC, does anyone know Seat's stand on this?
