Evening all!

As per the title, can anyone confirm the details of this cluster. I know it's from a Cupra but is it a pre facelift one? Any other details about it would help as I'm looking at installing it due to the larger display.

Thanks

Rob

As above, that exact part number does not appear to exist. It does appear with different letters at the end in several versions. They all appear to be from pre FL FR and Cupras (MPH and engine codes).

Do you have any info on these P/N's for the FR?

Current Cluster:
1P0 920 925 A

Potential New Clusters:
1P0 920 954 A
1P0 920 954 B

Looking for a P/N compatible with Pre-FL Leon FR which has a large colour MFD, as my Current Cluster above has the small red one.

Hmmm....here is a photo of the back label. I think it will be second from the bottom on the list, but not sure what the 'x' is for at the end.

Again, I can't find an exact match on 1P0 920 954 A or 1P0 920 954 B.

The only ones were 1P0 920 954 X and 1P0 920 954 AX. Both are shown from a FL FR TDi 170 (CEGA engine code).

Unfortunately, ETKA is not an 'Exact Science', just a guide. Every little variant on a part has it's own part no so you can end up with numerous options

Well I think my new cluster is the red display and also a 2008 version (as per the sticker details) so hopefully this will be a straight (ish) swap. Just need to wait for my VAG Commander cable to arrive then do the usual PIN code etc. and then use VCDS to make the other changes.

Is this one of the chinese versions on eBay by any chance? Would be interesting to see if they actually do work! SKC can be handy even if it's just for key coding

The pre-facelift plug is different to later models, that's the easy giveaway when looking.
Being 2008 they should have a red display?

VC 1.4 worked when I put Leon clocks in our Altea.

Once I take the dash off I'll see what's there...but I think it will fit fine and also be the red display.

I was unsure about the 1.4 cable but there's no real price difference anyway...probably the same cable just different software.

Well the cable arrived today. Had a bit of difficulty with the drivers as the CD that comes with the cable doesn't allow them to work on windows 7 however after a bit of digging I worked out how to do it and I've managed to get the SKC from my current cluster! :D Just need to check the replacement cluster now.

i'm pretty sure red display plugs are like this
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SEAT-LEON...arts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2a1e847ae7

and newer white displays have a plug like this
http://www.ebay.de/itm/Tacho-Kombii...997758803?pt=DE_Autoteile&hash=item3cc4adbf53

with 1.4 you can copy/paste the immo data and don't have to waste time using the SKC through VCDS.

It's the first type of cluster therefore should be easy to fit. As for 1.4 and the 'copy/paste method' have you got further details as I'm interested in how this is done.

That's for the Golf which changed mid 2006. I believe SEAT continued to use the old immobiliser system, this process worked on our 07.

If you have the new immo then your commander cable won't work anyway.

Vcds will be good for fault clearing afterwards.
In the guide is he installing an antenna afterwards?

In that case I'll give it a go!

Rob,

Out of curiosity did you pick this up from of the well known auction site a few weeks ago? I was watching one located in Brum, but I left it in the end as I was unsure of how hard it was to swap the cluster. I'm curious to see how hard it is doing, as I really miss the large mfd from my fr.

Do you need the convenience module for the large MFD cluster to work? Or can you put it in and install one later? I know some options won't be available without it but would it still work ?

I'm thinking of upgrading the display in my reference and I don't believe it has the convenience module
