just got back from work and my fuel light came on with 20miles left on the comp, is that about right as i thought it wud come on much earlier?

oh dear, how long have you had the car now? and you have never had the light come on? it should come on at about 20 miles left, but, even with it on 0 miles i have done upto 60 miles after that.

It normally comes on at 35 for me (sometimes varying between 30 and 40 depending on how you've been driving before hand).

IIRC, when the light comes on, there's approx 7.5 litres in the tank.

Spaniels, you're brave (or stupid ) doing 60 miles on 0 miles range!

i know it's a boring post but thnks for the info. My fan clatter is back, u reckon a bearing cud of gone in the fan, seems very doutful. Must still be them darned leaves.

Depends on how you have been driving
Mine comes on with about 35miles left if i have been driving quick and about 20/25 if driving slow ish

mine comes on with 25 or 20 miles left on every time can guess to the mile when it will give the dreaded beep!
bearing in the fan doubtful they dont run all the time and not off the crank like old cars only electric but might be leaves like before

yer just take a look at the fan, as said make sure its off if u like your fingures

I would imagine that whoping great engine fan would just kill and leafs but, thought u said it sounded like it was coming from close to the dash

My fuel light comes on at 55/60/65 miles.. but maybe I just drive more economically than the rest of you!! I've driven a good 25 miles over '0' mile range though and still only put 44 litres in...

mi harteys, yeah i meant the climatronic. When i turn it up, it don't sound right. In fact it was alrite yesterday, but today sounded a bit buzzy like it did a couple of days ago, anyone had this??

When I first got my 56 FR TDi, the front passenger footwell sounded like it had a leaf stuck in it.

To clear it I just put it at full blast onto the feet setting for a few mins, then turned it off, then full blast....

Did this a fair few times, but whateva was stuck in it soon got cleared out!

jones il have a go at that procedure lol. Yeah just got back from work and let my dad have a listen, but he thinks i'm being stupid. But it is actually quite annoying when u know that it was a different sound from before. What it is, is that when the graph is up 2, theres a buzzing sound which seems to be coming from the left hand side of the dash, behind the glove box. When i turn it up it goes then comes back at one bar before full power. Sorry to go on, but it's driving me mad!!!!

That sounds pretty similar to mine. Mine was coming from behind the glove box. Sounded like something was being vibrated by air movement?

Yeh, give my idea a go, worked for me after a couple of days trying it, and now its not returned yet (about 2 mths ago)

It is annoying, especially, as you say, its not the same as the noise before!
