its a shame its going, but tbh it never really took off ( if sales are anything to go by )
will make a very good second hand buy in the future

Having a look on howmanyleft it's not been a huge market here

I guess it's not being replaced as there's nothing in the lineup already to back fill

To be fair, you could spec one up to silly money very easily - which meant you'd be better off having an A4/320/C Class

This was an email from SEAT Fleet today:-

Please note that production of the SEAT Exeo saloon ends in late March. Stock is currently available to order of all key variants.

Production of the Exeo ST continues until late May, and factory orders for specific models can currently still be made. Further details of factory ordering deadlines will be available shortly from your SEAT Fleet Sales manager or SEAT dealer.

The Exeo range includes the popular Tech range, with fantastic levels of equipment at an extremely competitive price, and in Ecomotive format the Exeo offers CO2 emissions of 117 g/km for the saloon and 119 g/km on the ST estate version.

The new SEAT model line-up is taking shape in 2013: striking new designs, class-leading technology and more efficient and cleaner engines means that we’re absolutely ready to increase our fleet market share. With the recent addition of all-new models such as Toledo, New Leon 5dr, Leon SC and with Leon ST being introduced in Q4 2013, SEAT’s product portfolio is more comprehensive than ever before.

Toledo hardly a fitting replacment _I wonder if the VAG group are going back to model differentiation between the brands that seemed to have got lost over the last 5 years?

The Leon St I believe offers just as much room inside as the exeo, but it sits on the new MBQ platform like the rest of the models... The inline platform isn't really in use yet, the next generation a4 etc will have that..

The exeo was a stopgap... A cheap way for seat to test the water of a bigger car, and sadly it seems to have not been the raging sale success so is not being directly replaced, seat are going back to their core small to mid car line up... Maybe if the exeo had been advertised more it would hae been a bigge hit... But at the same time I love the fact it is exclusive and rare, ours always gets looks and comments!

Only problem is what to buy in a couple of years when we need a new one?? I was hoping their would be an exeo mk2 based on the b8 a4 once that is replaced but sadly that maybe just a dream.

It's real shame that they are going to stop building the exeo. Whether its built on a dated a4 chassis or not it doesn't matter to me. It's a good solid car re styled from a previous Audi a4 with the newer engines. The previous a4 I would have been perfectly happy to own second hand as its still a very good quality interior and good engines. With the exeo you get that great quality interior with new tdi cr engines and its new or newish. I've now had my exeo a year and really like it. I had originally gone out with the intention of going for a bigger car than my Ibiza mk4 and go for a Leon mk2 fr 170 or a golf gt tdi or gtd 170. I went up to my local seat garage and was looking around and said to the Mrs I thought the exeo looked a nice car and just thought I'd look to see what the boot space was like. When I looked I thought it was massive. Then we had a sit in the car and soon realised how nice it was inside compared with both the Leon mk2 and Ibiza's. From there that started the ball rolling and took it for a test drive. Once I'd driven both the Leon fr and exeo sport tech 170 I opted for the exeo as it was the same price and performed equally in terms of handling (both had Bridgestone potenza re050 tyres all round) and only 0.2 seconds difference in 0-62 mph time. Also my exeo at 1 year old only had 4700 miles compared to 10k on the Leon. So for the space and comfort and all the extras as standard i.e sat nav, rear parking sensors, full leather interior etc. For me it was a no brainer that the exeo was the car to go for. Only downside was that it didn't look quite as sporty. But then I only wanted the Leon with a btcc kit as the standard fr didn't do a lot for me. I only wish seat made the sport tech with the same style of bumper Audi used for there sport line a4's.
My brother and my dad feel its the best car seat have. And between us we have had more than a few seats. Only now with the release of the new mk3 Leon do seat have anything with the build quality of the exeo. After getting the car serviced the other week the head engineer bloke there asked where my Ibiza had gone then said how much do you prefer the exeo? Bet you like it don't you. Much better than the others in every way and I had to agree.
The fact that you barely see them any where even in Spain where I am right now just shows that people have missed a bargain in my book and probably due to lack of advertising. Closest in looks to it is the Toledo but that only has low powered engines and that's probably how it will stay as its meant to be a cheap family friendly eco car.

Just wonder if others share my view on this?

I'm totally in agreement with you, the exeo is a fantastic car and package. 2nd hand they really are a bargain.
This is the first time I've gone vag for 10 years after running Japanese cars and it's the first car in a while I haven't wanted to punt on. Haven't been on autotrader since I bought it !!
Wish there was more forum activity and people modding them

Totally agree, think the build quality is higher than any other previous Seat models, I have an mk2 LCR and the qualities not a patch on the wife's Exeo.

The question is, will discontinuing the model help second hand prices or drive them down even more, I'd like to think the exclusivity would help but in reality reckon it'll just add to the already bad depreciation. Any thoughts?

I was one of the lucky ones thanks to a dealer letting me know the last date for ordering one with changes. MY HR department pulled out all the stops & finalised lease quotes, and my order was accepted by Seat at 3pm on the last day!

I had an update on Thursday that it's en route to the UK and expected to arrive 6 May.
