Hello All. just wondering if was just me being unlucky or have any other Exeo owners having problems with cracked windscreens?
My 2009 saloon is currently on its fourth screen and polishing it the other night I noticed there was a new crack starting across the black bit just above the wiper blades so screen number five will be appearing soon no doubt.

I do cover a lot of motorway miles with work but I've never had to replace a windscreen on any previous cars and none of my colleagues seem to have problems with their cars.

Just wondering if its anything to do with shape of exeo / angle of screen etc, or am I just unlucky!!

Thanks

Matt

Had this misfortune to pick up 2 stone chips in the black bit on the bottom of my screen on my 2012 ST 150 miles after picking it up! Hoping that's not a sign of the screen angle etc.

Especially as Autoglass are coming next week to replace the scuttle trim and both A pillar trims ruined by the fitter!

My car is 18 months old and had a new windscreen fitted 2 months ago. No chips but a crack developed from under the trim below the wiper blades.e my wiper
However the crack coincided with the place my wiper blade smacked down on when changing the blades last time.

Oh and new screen is non SEAT and has picked up a few minute chips already, I suspect they are not of the same quality as SEAT OEM.

windscreen replacement

This happened to me last year. Car was 11 months old. had a stone chip (quite small) down near the wiper blades. Came back from holiday with car parked at Heathrow to find a 45cm crack. Screen had to be ordered in and took a week before I could get it sorted. Luckily that's the only time its gone.....

My screen has suffered a few good wallops from stones, but only one resulted in a minor crack which I've subsequently had repaired. It certainly seems more prone than other cars I've had!

The screen should be the same as the old A4's ....shouldn't it ?

Could just be the p*ss-poor state of the roads these days ...and an increase in this god-awful 'surface dressing', ie. tar & gravel

I have seen an option for double glazed windows but mine aren't either.
When I bought the car it was 18 months old and it too seems to have had the screen replaced. Only reason I can tell is there is no 'SEAT' stamp on the screen.

There is an a acoustic screen depending what model you have, it's slightly thicker to cut down the wind noise, so if you have one make sure the replacement is also an acoustic one..
