Exhaust Sensor / Cat

Hi, Eng light came on on Mrs 2008 Leon FR tdi, done a OBD check and said exhaust pressure sensor. That was a few days ago. She now says car smells of egg. Could it be the cat that has gone and throwing up the sensor fault? Thanks
