sounds nice danny lad whats you opinions on what will give me the best for pops and bangs etc either removing the middle box or going de-cat i no i would get the best from doing both but its a bit of a compramise as i drive a bit down the a13 to work so dont want it droaning at me the whole way at five in the mornin for 45 odd mins when im tired as fook

looks like it goes well aswell.

would a de-cat yeald me much more useable power over standard its only a cat back system or would it be worth just taking out the middle box.?

which would give me more pops.?

The downpipe is the bottleneck in the system, so that gives the biggest power.

Theres a photo of mine in my project thread with flames coming out the tail when i was on track.

You may be able to mate but they defo wont be as good with a decat because the cat will absorb alot of it where as a decat pipe is just straight through.

how much louder does the decat make to the exhaust note phil/danny? is it a noticeable difference.... i tried listening to your vid clip danny but my pc speakers are shite!!

Ive removed both but sadly my milttek backbox is huge...Hence why there just abit louder than the standard systems..

As the have 2 large silencers...

Mines doesnt pop at all...Unless on hard boost but not on let off...I say Keep the cat and remove the silencer

I done that already and it hasnt made any differnce at all.... surely it cant all be to do with the supersprint 'street' backbox..... i love the look of it so i dont want to change but i need more noise!! so i was thinking if the decat would make a big difference in noise i wouldnt have to change the backbox

dubz, yours isnt as loud because its not running half the boost that the mapped ones are running, boost is what makes the roar!

im sure the more boost you are running does help the noise a lil bit, but, my car is just as powerful as sootys cupra, if not a lil bit more (sorry soot ;) ) and his is still louder, i brought the backbox off cupramillo and even he said it was quiet if its a straight swap over from the standard backbox so i dont believe that its all to do with the amount of boost that is being used.
great exmaple would be the 1.1litre crew you get driving around trying to race you off the lights etc... all noise no go.

Turbo's tend to be more quiet then n/a systems dont no the science behind it but sure some one on here does ive got a custom one fitted think i mite just go for the centre box first as it makes it more simple for the MOT instead of having to put the cat back on and off only once a year mind but have heard rumers the police should be or are now running around with exhaust emission checkers.

Haha love the vid taking the sticker off! Respec'! Cheeky buggers putting it on in the first place... wonder if they put another one on when you return! Like Danny has said the size of the backbox has a lot to do with how loud it is, I also have Miltek and has a nice purr at stand still but growls when booting it giving deep subtle pops on lift off! I'll remove the middle box when i have a turbo back fitted but run a sports cat.
