Expected Delivery?

Got a call from the dealer today, there where problems with the production of the roof rails for the ST.
So now I have to wait 2-3 weeks longer till I get my car.. Normally it would have been last week

This was last week and I think this is for everyone who ordered an ST

I've had called my dealer two weeks in a row to ask him about the status of my car without result. A week later he called me to tell this, after he did some research why it took so long for delevery.. I guess if I didn't have called twice, I would've known anything either.

Hi All

Just wanted to tell, that my dealer just wrote me that my new Cupra SC 280 DSG arrived in denmark today.
It was set to have build week 18, soo pretty fast getting here.

Now its just wating for a company to tear out the rear seats and make it a van.

Hi guys. I am new to the forum. I took delivery of my Leon FR 1.8 TSI on Monday (28th). Virtually 2 months to the day from ordering.

I've just checked with Seat customer service as my dealer was refusing to give me any details and told me that they couldn't track the order. I ordered on the 22nd March and seat have told me it will be built wk beginning 19th May, so it should be with me 4-6 weeks after that. Does this sound right? Seems like a long time, i'm wondering, could my dealer have not got around to placing the order for ages? (Car is a 5Dr Cupra wtih DSG in Monsoon Grey)

They usually quote around 10-12 weeks for factory orders, but there doesn't seem to be much consistency to be honest. Recently orders for 3or5doors (not Cupra) seem to be running a little quicker than that, with most owners receiving their cars after 8-10 weeks. Estate models and Cupra models seem to be taking a little longer. I ordered my ST on Feb 14th, and I've been told to expect delivery in mid to late May, so around 14-16 weeks. That would seem to fit quite similarly with what you've been told to expect... It feels like a very long wait, I know, but I'm hoping the three years of motoring that'll follow it will make up for it!

If it makes you feel any better, my brother waited 10 months for his new car! So it could be a lot worse!

The build date sounds about right to me. Ours was ordered 10th March and built wk beginning 28th April (this week). I really hope it won't take 4-6 weeks for delivery after build. Others in the delivery thread suggest it should be quicker.

Some info re shipping...

Hi Just been doing some googling, I ordered my new Ibiza FR on 8th March, on chasing I discovered it was due to be built w/c 14th April & expected end of April. Have spoken to dealer today & they say its sat in Spain waiting for the boat (slowboat from China me thinks??!).....

It appears they use the L'Audace vehicle carrier to collect from Barcelona & bring to Sheerness, If you check port barcelona website here: portdebarcelona.cat/en/web/port-dels-negocis/lineas-regulares change destination to Sheerness & theres a little '+' sign you can click on which opens up a box & shows the L'Audace is docking there on the 5th May at 10am & departing at 8pm, presumably once its collected my FR & anyone else's thats ready....Looks like the L'Audace can hold up to 110 cars.

You can track the ship on this website: marinetraffic.com/en/ais/details/ships/9187318/vessel:LAUDACE Current position is just heading into Mostaganem.....looking at its previous destinations & timings & routes etc I'm guessing it'll be coming back to Sheerness via Vigo, Portugal & probably take about a week grrrrr!!! So all in all, from ordering 8th March to delivery which I'm guessing will be around 16th May it'll be about 10 weeks.....what confuses me is someone already mentioned on this forum theres was the same build week as mine & they collected theres yesterday - I guess mine just missed the boat - double grrrr!!! Anyway, hope that info helps someone else trying to monitor there new baby...

After all the geeky shipping research I think I now need a glass of Vino....can't wait to get back into an Ibiza & get rid of the horrid new Clio I'm currently driving!!

Quality answers tonight, good to see I'm not the only one starting to get twitchy and going a little over the top with the research if only knowing what was going on made our cars come sooner...

Annoyingly my mate who ordered a BMW the same week as I ordered mine has been told first week of June. Not sure I'll be able to stand his smugness if his turns up first!

Actually, I think I might just do that to doublecheck it'll definitely be on board else they might just find me turning up in Barcelona & dumping my Clio before wheelspinning out of the docks in my new green monster!!
