Just wanna hear the opinions of you guys, and whats actually mechanically different between these cars. Reason being, I'm hunting for an Ibiza Cupra and finding it incredibly hard to find one that meets my criteria, when I started looking at VRS' and they started to grow on me......

Same engine and gearbox like, just the cupra looks better in my opinion however the vrs is more practical being 5 door and cheaper still nice looking mind especially that green one.

Main difference is the Fab is built on the older PQ24 platform (same as Mk4 Ibiza) whereas the Ibiza is on the newer PQ25 platform

Just out of interest but as you've owned both would you say there's much between the platforms in terms of how they drive etc? Seems as far as the engine and electricals etc go they are the same.

Comparing it to my 1.4 sport MK5 I'd say the vRS handling is softer, this has now been sorted out by the H&R springs but the MK5 was better handling out of the box. I remember when test driving the MK5 Cupra it felt more stable as standard than my vRS.

Of course though as said it can be sorted with springs and a RARB.

Cheers for you input guys, I'll be sitting on the fence about it for a while though.

Best to drive both and see which one you like.

I'll be honest and say if you are buying new I believe the vRS and Cupra and now about the same price, I'd go for the Cupra. I got mine VAT free so it was a no brainer.

I've said it before but it's the Polo BlueGT which is really worth holding out for IMO. A tad less powerful with 140PS but it has a 6-speed manual and the fuel economy/ co2 emissions are diesel beating.

Yeah looks like a tidy little car and has the newer 1.4tsi with cylinder deactivation IIRC

The main difference id consider between Seat and Skoda are customer service support. Skoda win that hands down.

tbh i think the Cupra and Polo GTI are aimed at a different market. The Cupra is infinitely better looking, but the vRS is much more understated and practical
