Faint whistling changing up the gears?

Not really a problem ,

Just wondering what the faint whistling was when im changing up the gears. its only audible when the windows are down. Sounds really nice! Like a tame dump valve i guess.
I own a 2002 tdi mk4

Yup get that too. Sounds pretty cool. Like the sound turbo diesels make when the turbos spooling specially on big rigs

Me too, turn the climate off, lower the windows and listen, it sounds grrrrreat!!

Turns heads too!!

So this is the turbo bit spinning is what ya telling me. I had a Punto turbo diesel before but it sounded like a tractor, so any whistling would be drowned out.

yeah, in summer and driving next to a wall, the sound resonates lovely.
