I have just finished rebuilding a cupra tdi 04 plate.. I filled with coolant and run it up all seems fine as in temp builds nicely and stops and stays at 90 the top rad hose gets warm then the bottom after sitting at 90 for a bit like it should but the fans don't seem to be kicking in even after sitting at tick over for 40 mins.. Anyone got any idea what temp the fan switch kicks in? Thanks

I think usually they are knackered on Leon's aren't they? Resisters need soldering in or something? Mine do come on though, quite often when sitting in this weather, sure it isn't just a loose plug or something?

They're both new fans and have checked and double checked all connections.. It is sitting stable at 90 degrees.

As above... if the temp stays at 90 they wont come on. Take it for a good drive then let it idle then it'll have heat to clear.

Diesels dont run as hot as petrols. Also make sure your interior fans are off, because if these are heating your car your cooling the engine.
