Do MAF sensors arrive faulty at all? I ordered a new sensor from GSF, fitted it tonight and the car misfired and cut out  It is the right part as the part number matches the previous one.

I got a faulty one for my S3 from Audi a couple of years ago

Funny you should say that, i was still getting the maf signal too low code even after i fitted a new one from gsf also. Later on the car did develop a misfire and snapped a coilpack, but i think this was more to do with the revo trial i had installed

I suppose it's possible though. Only was to find out is take it back and get another and try it again

Did you get the MAF replaced and did it work?

If my coilpack was faulty wouldn't it show up on vag com?

Nah, left it on and has been fine now. Strange thing is, ever since i got the snapped coilpack replaced the eml hasn't come on with the maf signal too low code

You sure its not the coilpack ?

When my coilpack was faulty VAGcom only pointed out which cylinder misfires.

Just got back guys, swapped it for a new one :D

Guy at GSF said it was dodgy the seal on the box was broken when I received the faulty one, and replaced it free of charge where I would have usually had to pay and get it refunded under warranty. Great service :)

I had a new MAF sensor fitted and I drove it for 4 days like it. Complained to garage for poo idle and holding back after 4000rpm and told them it must be faulty MAF. So they looked and what do you know errors related to the new MAF.

At the time they said they didn't have any in stock so they got the DUD1 lol. Anyway cut long story short the new "official MAF" is allot better and no errors from it i was not happy with them cos it really did run like s**t.

Glad you got it sorted m8

I have had a new maf from TPS (VW/Audi) and it was faulty out of the box.. it can happen.
their warranty procedure sux mind you but thats another story

mine too was in an unseald box.. I suspect TPS are just passing it from customer to customer instead of dealing with it as a scrap maf as it actually is.. annoyingly
