Hi guys I've got a problem with irregular idle speed on my 2010 Cupra. it seems fine when cold but once the car warms up the idle starts to bounce between 1k and 2.5k. I also get a slight over run when turning off the ignition. other than that the car runs and drives fine when in gear no power loss etc I've done a vcds autoscan and its brought up 2 error codes -

004243 - Bank 1; Fuel Measuring System 2 P1093 - 008 - Malfunction - Intermittent
001287 - Idle Control System RPM P0507 - 001 - Higher than Expected

I've had a look around for vacuum leaks (only visually) and i can't see anything out of the ordinary

it's been suggested to me that my PCV valve may be on the way out but i just wanted to check opinions before i shell out for a new one. Any thoughts? Cheers

Thanks for trying to help but I've figured it out now. Managed to have a look in the daylight today and get the engine cover off and the plastic extension to get oil filler cap flush with the cover wasn't actually connected to the engine. I've managed to just put the cap straight on to the engine and that's fixed the problem. New problem is I can't work out how the extension piece connects to the engine and if it's broke or not lol

The extension piece is exactly that, it's only purpose is to get the oil filler cap flush with the engine cover. IIRC they are glued in

Cheers Richie that's a bit worrying considering the effect it has when it's not airtight. Think your right though I couldn't see any other way it could be fixed

Well would you believe it, someone else had exactly the same issue as me! Mine is no longer flush but it is now fully sealed so runs like peach again.
