As per title.
I've just filled up my Leon 1.4 TSI with a full tank of fuel and got back in my car and it still saying low fuel (warning on dash and entertainment console) with 40 miles range.
I know fuel was fully dispensed as it clicked off automatically when filling.
Is this a known fault that other people have had in the past? Would it be a faulty fuel level on the side of the fuel pump thats got stuck? Or something else?

Cheers

Ok. Quick update..... After filling up it was saying a range of 40 miles. Since then I gone and picked up my lad from work and the range has gone down to 20 miles. Surely if the level gauge was faulty or stuck it wouldn't read a low level of fuel which reduces normally?

Update 2.... I drove to work and popped into a petrol station. Only managed to get 4 litres in so definitely got a full tank. Now have a blinking red light for fuel level and 0 range!
So, probably fuel level sensor broken? It's just very odd that it's behaving like I haven't fill up and dropping normally as if theres a low fuel level. I would of thought if the level sensor broke, it would just report 0 fuel straight away.

The fuel sender is wired directly to the fuel gauge in the clocks with no junctions so the issue is ether the sender or the clocks, or in the plug at either end.

Thanks for the reply. So are you saying that it's unlikely to be a fault with the level sensor and more likely an electrical issue?

Update 3..... Thought it might be worth disconnecting the battery to see if it would clear/reset the fault.... And it did!
Now displaying a full tank and correct range.
Now I'm unsure if it's 'fixed' the issue and I might get exactly the same problem when I fill up again. But as least it's some progress.
