Finish of passenger seat

Maybe a stupid question but something that i noticed before but took for granted and is now three times in a week asked by somebody if there is a part missing underneat the passenger seat (Leon FR PHEV)

Car was delivered by handing the keys and pointing it out at the parking of the dealer

I think it's part of the 48v hybrid system.

You'd like to think there should be some kind of cover for it - but given the general cost-cutting that's going on in car design these days , maybe not.
I guess only someone else with a Leon Hybrid will be able to tell you if theirs is the same.

There doesn't seem to be anywhere obvious for a cover to attach to. Also, a cover might lead to the heatsink overheating if there was no airflow around it.

Not very attractive, though, is it? Is it exposed with the seat in a normal position?
