K.. The law makes me carry one of these in my Leon... but since i bought it i kept it loose in the trunk with nothing to hold it in place. Its a little frustrating to know that while taking a turn the damn think is running loose in the back of my car.

I've noticed that there would be enough room for it in the spare tyre but the platic thinggy that holds the carjack takes up alot of space.

How do you guys deal with this problem ?

nope... i got a cheap one from the supermarket :|

Anyone got a picture of this bracket ?

1 ) Why do you have to carry one by law.
2 ) If the fire extinguisher didn`t come with a bracket it isn`t designed for keeping in a car so you now are braking the law twice.
3 ) You can get a good legal fire extinguisher for about £15

Well in my country (Romania) the law states that each car will be equipped with a fire extinguisher.. among other things.

btw, i just checked.. apparently it is designed for cars.. but it doesnt have any bracket or anything to hold it in place.

Just tape it under the parcel shelf

If you use that silver builder's tape (the stuff that tears easily) you can tape the extinguisher securely to the strengthening bar, and just loop a length of wire between the 'shelf and extinguisher to give a sort of quick release tab for when your engine goes up in flames

That's what I'd do anyway

See if you can get one that clips in under the passenger seat, or perhaps in the passenger footwell. If your car catches fire you want to be out very quickly.

I remember being told a story of someone's car catching fire on the M25, they pulled over to the hard shoulder and a got out but didn't have a fire extinguisher, a few moments later a Chubb fire extinguisher salesman pulled up with and put the car out in a few seconds. Very handy, but not to be relied upon.

You could try some self adhesive velcro.

Just put the hook part on the extinguisher and it should stick to the carpet.

I use it to stop Oil, Miller DPS4 and various other things from rattling round in the boot.

I need to get one for Le Mans where is the best/cheapest place Halfords?

Try Tescos believe it or not. I think I bought one last year for about £5. Admittedly it was quite small, but it's better than nothing. Although I've since swapped it for a much larger one that came free from elsewhere. :D

Having just seen the Screwfix one it was actually the same size...

Don't think that would have much effect on this
