...as my dad likes to call it.

He took one look at my LCR and said it was, I quote, 'f@cking aggressive'.

It surely is.

Picked it up on Saturday morning, then took it on a 500-mile jaunt from Kent to Chester, via Ellesmere Port and round back home to deepest darkest Essex. Where the first thing I did was wash it! Okay, so black is going to be a bitch to keep clean I knew that.

First impressions?
It's very very comfortable. Also reassuringly simple and solidly built (at least compared to my old Ibiza.
It certainly is aggressive. People were moving out of the way when they saw that big black bumper in the window - again, more respect than a standard yellow ibiza
Fuel consumption wasn't all that bad - got 33mpg on the way there, 37 on the way back (pootling along at 60 on the M11 - not by choice I might add) and 35 on the way to work this morning. Wasn't exactly hanging about but very much in the flow of traffic.
The power is obscene. It's frankly ****ographic. I nearly messed my pants. Admittedly it doesn't have the low down grunt and torque of my old derv, but in terms of acceleration you really are flying before you know it.

Down sides?
Picked it up in the rain so couldn't see a scuff mark on the front bumper. A few minor stone chips too (which is to be expected on a 3 year old car with 18k I guess - I can live with it and keep the extra 7k in my sky rocket) The towing-hooky cover is missing from the back bumper, and the HU has obviously been changed - it's a bit scratched and the changer is loose, but then they're coming out as soon as I can get a fascia adaptor from halfrauds.

I've never been so happy.

That said, it already booked in for an APR on Wednesday, and I ordered a new DV last week. I'm not hanging about! Hoping for a bit more torque rather than BHP, although I'm quite happy to have both! The figures on the website look impressive, without straining the clutch too much...

I'd post pics but it's bog standard atm. And the weather's shocking.

Black is the best colour!

But yes it is a bit of a bitch to keep clean. Might be worthing getting it detailed to lay down a good base for you to keep on top of.

Sounds like you arent hanging around with getting stuff done to it!

Excellent matey :D glad your enjoying it, they certanly do look agressive for a standard car :D, and i am very tempted to have one over a mk4 ibiza cyupra 20vt next year. Matt (smooth) who was at the essex meet with me the other weekend, after being out in his car several times over that weekend, really did put me in a confused state, of which to go for next year :(

Time will tell, but they are nice :D
Enjoy it mate, and id advise on the Blueflame exhaust for it aswell as it sounds absolutly mint :D

Coming from a dirty derv just the sound of any turbo petrol makes me weak at the knees.

I'll get the map done and then I'll have to pause for a couple of months. Thinks the missus wants the kitchen re-tiled.

I still miss my fr derv ibiza, that had a full milltek and a hybrid turbo on it :( that sounded sweet for a derv :D

i'm lucky to see an average of 23mpg! wifey took the car out yesterday and i saw 31.9mpg afterwards.......... i need to buy lighter shoes ;)

To be fair my journey to work is 18 miles of a-roads without a single corner - I'm getting it remapped because it's 10 miles of wonderful winding B-roads to stimulate and tittilate! On the way to work I can only drive as fast as the car in front most of the time, and it's a pretty steady 70-80mph.

And I'm still getting used to the car - being cautious until I get used to the size and power of the thing. But I'm getting used to it very quickly.

glad you like the car mate lets us no what its like after the apr remap as im very tempted to take mine there soon :D

yeah, how many times did you need to stop for more fuel on your 500 mile trip?

Once, probably!

Glad you're enjoying it mate! There is little that can give the thrills of a 200+ bhp hot hatch like the LCR, it's the best combination of practicality and fun I've owned! And the fuel costs aren't stupid, but the fun, the ability to drive it properly without changing gear every 3k rpm and the pure speed of it make every drop of fuel worthwhile :D
