Hi I've just bought a 57 fr tdi for my wife but didn't realise it didn't have an aux socket like the others we looked at just presumed they all had it.ours has the ipod dock under the seat but can't get it to work so would rather just add an original aux socket in the centre console like the factory fitted ones. Right my question is can I buy this as a kit and does anyone have the part no please and will I require any coding my headunit has the cd/aux button but if I tap it twice nothing happens just says no cdc.the headunit is just the standard non nav one not sure on the code though

Any help would be great and I'm sure this has been asked before but I couldn't find anything in the search
Thanks
Luke

I used this kit on my 07 fr. I had exactly the same problem. This plugs into ipod dock loom no wire cutting. Took me about 5 mins and ran cable up to centre console to give me aux input. Look up this kit which is what I used. Connect2 CTVVGX003

Hi thanks for your reply that would work well as long as I could modify the cable to take the seat socket as I'd rather have it looking original not sure if cutting the cables and joining them to the socket plug would work though?

There no cutting cables. It fits the seat plug just unplug ipod dock and plug this in. Its that easy. Took me a while to find it as no where it tells you that its suitable for the standard stereo in the fr with the ipod dock. But I assure you it is because its what im running and it works perfectly. Just press the button on the HU like you would to select the ipod dock and whatever you have plugged in the aux on the adaptor will come through crystal clear. Its a great piece of kit and I just mounted it under the seat and ran cable up the side. They also do one which will take an ipod but you need to use an adaptor to convert from 30 pin to lightning connector if your using it with newer iphone etc with lightning connector. The added bonus is that itll charge your ipod. But i preferred having the aux connector with this unit CTVVGX003

Sorry didn't make myself clear I want to use a seat aux socket in the centre console rather than having a lead poking out from somewhere I want a factory looking installation

Ah sorry yes if you search aux dash plug it should bring up the centre console plug that some of the fr's have as standard. Just wire that into the kit discussed at it'll be as oem. There is a vw kit with plug and lead. Or get vcds and aux kit recode and do it that way. The HU needs to be looking for a basic aux input so you need to do coding if you do an apator change as with the ipod dock it looking for a clock/sync signal. Hope that helps

eBay item no 190859587792 I have 1 of these so if I use this ill need some coding and it should work? I no someone who can do the coding but can anyone help me with how so he nos exactly what to do
Thanks for your help

Hi that should work fine. The 12 pin plug replaces one that goes to ipod dock loom. The coding you should be able to find on here under aux input coding or put it into google as im sure its the same module for mk5 golf etc.
