i would as i had the front two done under warranty after i had fitted my coilovers!!

but ALSO make sure u al least grease up the top mount bearings (even if they are new!) as these are what went on mine! ;)

also use white grease to grease up the platforms and springs before u fit the coilovers! ;)

thanks for quick reply... does it have to be white grease? aslo wat best to put on the threaded bit to stop them corroding

doesnt have to be white grease buts thats wat i used!

that will be fine on the threads too!

however my FKs came with a spray for the threads.

Thanks for the help on the phone bill:p , I got the fronts fitted like. And was wondering where is the ball race. as when i took the top mount off there wasnt one:blink: .... i thought i read on here that there was lol anyway cheers for the help lads:D

you only get to the ball race if you undo the 3 nuts..... if you just undo the top mount then you'll never see them

seriously what 3 nuts?.... theres 3 bolts that hold the top mount to the strut top. unless u mean on the top mount its self never saw any nuts:confused:

3 x bolts on top which secure strut (top mount also) is what m0rk means.
The bearings are inside the flat topmount.

flat top mount?...... well unless the rubber top mount comes apart then?, but didnt look like it did ... its just a round rubber thing wiv a round metal bit in the middle and with 3 bolt holes in it

any one to got a pic of top mounts/bearings? also what is the standard ride height like say from top of wheel arch to ground? maybe on 17inch wheels if any one knows?

ok fitted one of the rear coilover tonight and i was wondering there is like alot of nuts used on the standard rear shocks to bolt the rubber mounts on, and do u use them on the coilovers as i only got one thick nut with the coilover so ive used some of the nut thinner nuts and put the thick one in side the boot on the top rubber i dont know if this is right lol, also i noticed the little spring at the top of the coilover hasnt crushed up like at the front im assumming thats becoz there is no weight on the rear as the front one has squashed up.... take it that is right? ive set it quite high at the rear probably about 15mm lower<just to check it and will lower afterwards:p (Havent done the other side yet either).took apic of it

You simply replace the old strut with the new one. Top mounts on the front and rear fit exactley how you took them out. If i was you i would take the otherside apart and this time remember how it all came apart. But to be honest if your not sure its right take it to a descent garage that knows coilovers and let them finish it off and set the suspension up properly.

Well the spring your on about is the helper spring. Dont worry too much about that. On my kit, which is the same as yours, there is only one complete spring on the front.

nope...mines got helpers on the front also unless im not gettin what your saying lol cheers for help tho:p

What do u mean?... jamex yea they are from philj why? i did think they was supposed to be badged up as v-max oh and the first pic u can see is with the wheel on and the car lowered down i would of thought it should crush like the fronts have, unless its because i havent fitted the other rear coilover yet:whistle:
