Smoother is the best way to describe it. The springs are the same length but more supple, this gives the drop (around 30mm front/40mm rear) but although the springs are softer, the fact that it's also lower compensates. So, to sum up, handling still like a go-kart but not quite so "crashy" Good mod, relatively inexpensive and easy to do! Looks nice too! Save money on coilies and put it toward Revo or ITG that's what I say!!!

I also like the sportlines, but the ride is more bouncy now compared to oem springs. This can be felt when driving city speeds. With more speed it goes away.

Can someone post a link to a spreader tool? Don't want to buy the wrong item :D
And to confirm, these are the tools needed?
14mm spline socket, 27mm socket, T30 socket, 21mm or 13/16" plug socket, long 7mm allen key, spring compressors
What size spline socket do you need for the anti-roll bar if its not a torx fitting?

Want to give this a go myself, as my local garage want £260 to fit!

I'm no mechanic and the last suspension I changed was on my Mk2 Fiesta XR2 back in 1995!

Grind down an old hex bit or something similar into an oval shape. That's all the spreader tool is anyway

Hopefully I can find one in my old toolbox as they want £20+ for one on ebay! :wtf:

Just in case the censoring has messed up that link

Cheers for the link, tools ordered (only needed a few bits) and feeling a bit more confident about fitting, I just need this rain to :censored: !!

Really depends on your insurance company, I'm lucky enough to be with green light who allow mods with no hike in premiums. Some aren't as laid back, my last one as soon as I mentioned lowering it was a no no. Changing it to 'seats sport suspension' was a different matter though ;)

Well I had a go today. Passenger side came off easy enough and once I had the right tool, getting the spring off was easy. The drivers side would not go, I couldn't get the 1st nut off! It turned with the bolt and my alan key just went round and round (looked like the inside had been rounded off)

Nothing I tried would get the drivers side to budge, so I had to put it all back together standard :(

Will have to pay a garage to do it and suck up the cost.

There's a few creaks coming from the suspension now.....and yes I've double checked and tightened everything

Definitely rate this an 8/10 for difficulty!

I ache all over now too, I started at 1pm and finished at 7:30

Rounded screws are the bain of my life, there's always at least one with every job I do on a leon or golf or similar. I always give a good spray of pb blaster now or even wd 40 and let it soak.... Or just get impatient and get the drill out lol

Never rains but it pours! The anti roll bar top link bolt has just sheared off on the way to work!
