Fitting gas struts to bonnet?

U have to help it about 4" then it's off.all my cars u have to help even the boot you don't want loads of pressure when it's shut.hope that helps

Which model strut did you use as the site lists leon 1m bonnet strut or could you supply the part number of the gas strut ? Thanks

Is it easier to make the plates and fit them or weld? I want to do this but don't want to weld and then have the paint blister.

Personally I went for bolting on as I didn't fancy welding the plates on either

What size nut and hole do you use and drill?

I done this to mine but the bonnet won't close. Any help on how to get this right? Any more pictures of where the plate needs to go on the bonnet side please.

Got the strut off the boot of an A3.

What should I get then? I was only using one. I now have to gas struts fully locked and won't open but not on the car. Can these be released?
