Fixed Price Maintenance

Ok,

I have rang round a couple of dealers and got a price for services and Fixed Price Maintenance (FPM). The following is what I found, but bear in mind I have a DSG so this may be why the prices are out a little?

Based on 36 months, 12k miles per year

FPM
Service Only: £16.28/month
TOTAL: £586.08

Service + Maintenance: £21.55/month
TOTAL: £775.80

Service + Maintenance + Tyres: £37.62/month
TOTAL: £1354.32

I then estimated what actual consumables you would need and found out the prices of these in order to compare:

10k Service: £140
20k Service: £175
30k Service: £140
Brake Fluid Change: £30
TOTAL: £485 <- Compare to the Service Only Plan

New Pads + Discs: £170
Wipers: £40
TOTAL (Inc. Services): £655 <- Compare to the Service + Maintenance Plan

4 Tyres (18"): £560
TOTAL (Inc. Services + Consumables): £1700 <- Compare to Service + Maintenance + Tyres

My dealer told me that it was arranged by VW Financial Services and was a credit agreement... So presumably it is subject to interest charges?

What happens if you go over the agreed mileage?


Irfan, according to VW Financial Services any dealer can set this up for a customer. So perhaps you could give me a quote because the quotes I got seem a little high.

I picked up my cupra this afternoon and MKSeat quotes me approx £20 a month for 10k miles for 3 yrs Service and Maint...They also quoted me "approx" £100 a month for tyres as well...

I told them in no uncertain terms to off

Service and maintenance also includes the mot, which you would get done a month early, also a air con re-gas. I did

Doh, pressed the wrong button It depends on your dealers prices for servicing, the prices flakmonkey quotes are cheaper than my local dealers. I went for just the service as it works out alot cheaper for me. "maintnance" depends on how hard you drive, most items will be covered under warrenty. I never put anything on my last leon in the first 3 yrs/30 k apart from wiper blades so I thought maintenance was not worth it. If your hard on brakes etc it may be to you
