It's taken me a couple weeks to getting around to making this post, but medium story short I had my car valet a couple weeks ago (regret!), right around the days where it was super / record hot, a couple days after I noticed the plastic around the a/c temperatures was fracturing and coming off. We did make it worse in a few places when we initially thought it was a plastic protector cover that'd never been removed (regret!).

1. Anyone come across this before? Is it a result of a tool or chemical the valet used, or the heat, or both? He didn't do a great job so I don't really want to ask him, just avoid a repeat.

2. Anyone know the specific part number and if correcting it is a small plastic part of a giant PITA?

Appreciated!

It's my first seeing and super annoying for a 69 plate, any ideas what this panel is called?

Hi this happened to mine during the recent hot weather. I brought a used climate control panel off ebay for £30.

Hopefully you'll find a decent one, a lot for sale on ebay with scratches and cracks.

Yeah it's the heat. Crap plastic used from SEAT.

They will just patch you off though and say you must of damaged it

Swapped out the old one 2 weeks ago, limited selection on the ones exactly matching the trim so paid a little more and slightly different part number, plenty of videos on youtube for the best removal method, looks good for now. Thanks for the help.
