Flapping Noise From Transmission Tunnel?

Righty, so I drove my 1.4 on the motorway for the first time yesterday and I've discovered a strange noise:

When going over about 85 (on a private road, of course) and turning to the left on a fairly tight bend (not so tight to neccesitate slowing though) there's a strange flapping noise that seems to come from the transmission tunnel behind the hand-brake. I haven't been under the car to have a look but it sounds almost like a rubber-on-steel noise. Does anyone have any idea what this could be and whether i need to do anything about it?!

i would guess its the exhaust heat shield working loose and knocking against the under side of the car, mine does it occasionally

i get the same problem, was wondering what it was but thought it was the exhaust as ive changed it recently. if it is the exhaust heat shield then is it easy to tighten up?
