Some times when I start my car I get the oil light flash at me 3 times and its flashing yellow (which is strange as when the ignition is set its red) why is this and what does it mean?

Read book and done search but no luck, only thing found was to stop car if flashed RED and made a beep due to pressure loss ???? HELP PLZ

Are you sure its your oil light flashing at you or is it your engine coolant light? For some reason so many people think engine coolant temp is an oil temp gauge:lol:

Engine coolant light is the temp gauge you see next to your fuel gauge. Oil warning is the oil can illumination.

If you've got the oil can illumination coming up, i personally would not drive the car as it can mean oil pump failure, and you dont want to be going anywhere with no oil circulating around!

However i thought that was a red illumination, not amber:shrug: Amber like said above may just mean low oil level:shrug: If its full like you've said then it may just be a dodgy sensor giving you a false indication.

Nope nope its on the main display, when ignition is started its red (the bulb check state) then when engin is started its yellow flasshes 3 times, its deff the oil as it has the picture of the oil can on it,

Oil lights on Leon's are two stage, yellow indicates low level (you say the levels fine so it could be the oil level sensor faulty) red indicates low oil pressure and hence you need to stop the engine immediately.
