I don't use my car through the week and it just sits on the drive in the rain that we've been having.

Yesterday the battery was completly flat when I tryed to start it. This battery is only about 2 months old, should I take it back? (After a run its started fine all weekend so the alternator is working fine)

id get it checked at a good auto sparks , proper load test not a crappy multimeter job , also maybe get your car looked at for current draining leaks , high resistance shorts , a battery should last a week without a charge

I dont know exactly how long a good battery should last before discharging itself, but to me a week seems too little. I would expect a battery to last more than that, especially if its only 2 months old. Did you leave anything on? even a small thing like a map light?

I'd try to have it replaced, but what battery did you buy? is it a good one like ACDelco or Bosch or something similar?if it's a cheap battery I wouldn't be too surprised.

If you've got electronic equipment on your car such as a snooper, aftermarket headunit or an alarm (other than factory) you will still be draining from the battery but as Cassman and Stoney have both said it does sound like the battery isn't working effectively enough.

I'll have a check around to see if anything is staying on that shouldn't. Other than that I'm pretty sure I did not leave anything on other than the standard alarm.

Its only a cheap one, if I take it back I may get a better quality one I think.

Thanks all
