Gone and got a flip key followed all the sticky info on how to do it, but I got a little stuck at this point

Quote:
5 then remove the badge( took me ages to figure out why i couldnt slipt the top bit!) you will then see a small screw undo this then the key will open up to reveal a little cylindrical chip.

I opened up my key and this is what I found, no transponder !!

Any ideas

incidently, the flip key remote has been linked and will remotely open and lock the car, but the imobiliser light flashes when put in the ignition

I only did mine yesterday and when I saw that I was thinking WTF! I see what you've done now though. The transponder which came with mine was glued in and a bit of a job to get out! Good luck fella.

Seperating the flip key section was a real nightmare, the two sections on mine were actually glued together :(

Finally got them apart with some case damage [:@] And the transponder in mine was well glued in (blooming Veedub build quality !!!)

But all is now fine and it works..

Can the sticky get modded slightly to include opening the flip key section and that some cases MAY be well stuck together !!

Cheers for the help

it has the flip key bit i didnt mention opening the remote bit the badge is on the flip key part

i bought a flip key and cant get the dam pemote to work! following the instructions on the sticky thread when you get to the bit of manualy locking the doors and pressing the unlock key it wont make the horn sound or aanything.... any ideas? ps sorry to interupt.

well you need to get the key in two halfs to start with then there is a wo halfs that split tin half i just used my finger nails for this part. the other half of the key with the flippy it and button you need to remove the VW badge n there is a small phillipos screw, undo this but be careful of the spring inside as this can pind out lol hope this helps

yeah on the side where the side where the badge is there is a slot on the seem where the two halfs seperate u need to put a thin bladed screw driver in there and ease the two apaart mine just pulls apart lol.

Not the only one then! Mine is a Hella key also, old remote is also Hella, and both are 433 MHz.

Edit, part number is HLO 1J0 959 753 N
