Horray !!
Got my 3 button flip key during the week off the bay came from the states despite advertised as in London
First disapointement was mullering the seat badge on the back in attempt to get at the screw to swap the transponder chip
Whipped the transponder chiop out of the spare with the aid of acetone and a stanley blade to hoick it out of the holder, came out easily without breaking it, which was my fear based on what i'd read from a few people on here !!
Guess I was lucky!!
Went to Timpsons today to get the blade cut, which they were hessistant to do at first because they fob are so expensive but after explaining that the blansk were a few off ebay they said they'd give it ago! Another bonus i went in a works car so couldn't test it straight away, the guys said he couldn't charge me untill they knew it worked. !! Went away with a cut key, checked in the works car park when i got back ... RESULT !!
Then Coded the central locking to the car using this method which i found on here late last night
1) Old key in the igniton turn to ignition on position (i'm assumed the key would have to be one with a still working transponder in it in my case this was the old non flip remote)
2) Make sure doors are unlocked
3) Open Window or open the drivers door (incase anything goes the way of the pear)
4) Lock Drivers door manually with the Flip Key
5) Now unlock and lock the door whilst holding the unlock button
6) At this point the horn sounded
7) Removed keys from the door and igniton and test !
That worked for me so passing it on again My car is a 52 plate MY03 Leon Cupra
Key part number was HLO 1KO 959 753 G and was 434 Mhz Key .... my orginal remote had 433 on the side
So more proof that that doesn't matter
Just need to get a new seat badge and i'm done
