Fog light install

Hey guys, I picked up some used fog lights with surround grills and switch and was wondering is that all I need to get them in and working. The car didn't come with fogs so that's why I'm installing them, is it just as easy as taking the current grills out and putting in the new ones with fogs then just wiring them up? (Getting someone to wire them for me).

That would be ideal I may have a look, would it see it down around the fog light position if it has existing loom?

Going on my experience of owning many other VAG cars over the years I'd be surprised to see a complete fog loom in place if the car left the factory without them.
It should be easy enough to trace the loom back from the headlights down to the fog light position behind the front bumper though to give you a definite answer.

I'll have a look tomorrow. How hard is it to wire it all in with new wiring, keep in mind I'll be giving it to a auto electrician just wondering will he have a hard time doing it or straight forward?

TBH it should be straight forward enough.
I can't remember how the loom is on these particular cars but if it's like the early generation VW and Seats then you should be able to swap that part of the wiring harness over to the one you need with the fog light plugs on it.
With this is mind if I get the chance I'll have a look at the complete loom I've removed from the Leon I'm breaking at some point and let you know.

You mean take the existing loom out of the car the fog lights came out of and wire it into the one getting fogs? Also another question for you how do the fogs secure in place on a leon originally with no fogs

The fogs have two bolts that secure onto either the bumper support or chassis (can't remember which)

On the Cupra, you fit the fogs and then the grill slots in afterwards with one screw. Not sure about on the R

Hi I have a Leon fr that didn't come with fogs even tho the holes r there already for them so not sure y they didn't come with them as I thought they come standard. Need also to no if the loom will be there so I can just get myself some fogs n just wire them straight up. Also not sure what is going on but when I put my rear fogs on the fuse just blows straight away so could this be related? Any help would be much appreciated.

I've never seen a FR or Cupra without front foglights so I'm surprised yours aren't there as standard.
So if the holes are there in the small grilles in the bumper then surely they've been removed?
Do you have a front fog specific headlight switch?

Hmm someone has clearly been bodging by the sounds of things.
I'd start by investigating the front fog loom and I'm wondering if the plugs have been tampered with and shorting the circuit out now?

Was the car modified in any way? FMIC taking up the space?
